This is a very easy triangular shawl combining two (relatively) seldom used stitch patterns found in Barbara G. Walker’s Stitch-Encyclopedia: “Sunspots” and “Strawberry Stitch”.

The shawl is knit straight from the bottom corner up, without any edging work required - so it can be knit to any size (or until you run out of yarn!).

Made in black (or white), it drapes very nicely as a Mantilla.
