STRIBER
Brioche knitting creates a soft surface, which at the same time is rigid, because all lines are moving in the same direction. When knitting the texture stripes in different colours, they are accentuated. You have the inner and the outer stripes. You have the top and the bottom stripes.
Two-colour brioche, in solid coloured yarns, underlines the rigidity. In this piece, one of the colours, the most distinct one, is worked holding two different yarns together. It makes the rigidity less distinct, but enhances the difference in height.
Another interesting thing about this piece is the contrast between the horisontal and the vertical lines.
