Stripes Plus started as a problem! I wanted to knit colourful socks…but with a few considerations:

I didn’t want to do any stranded knitting.

I didn’t want to look at my pattern constantly.

I wanted to use stash and more than one colour.

And finally….I didn’t want to darn my growing pile of holey socks

I did want to find a way to knit a bit of extra reinforcement into the sole of my socks while also adding a check mark to every item in the list above.

And so this collection of socks was created.

Colourful, stash-busting, easy, intuitive, addictive and built in reinforcement.

All the things we love in the beloved vanilla sock…with just a bit of a plus. A tad more engaging…but still TV knitting.

The feedback I got from testers totally confirmed what I was hoping to accomplish. A new little capsule of go to sock patterns when you are craving colour, want to put a wee dent in that stash and just want to knit joyfully without having to think too hard about it all.

I hope you love this collection too!

This collection is constructed from the toe up, and includes a short row heel. The pattern includes 4 sizes, links to tutorials to help you along the way and lots of colour tips and tricks.

Each pattern utilizes slipped stitches to create the stripes, checks and gingham patterns. We are using two or more colours, but only ever knitting with one at a time.

Skills Required
Judy’s Magic Cast-on, working in the round, knit, purl, German short row heel or Fish Lips Kiss Heel, increasing, slipping stitches, bind off using a stretchy method.
