Time is gone (Stripsearch, Faith no More)

The eerie and slightly spooky music and lyrics of Stripsearch by Faith no More work well with my emotions during the first couple of months of lockdown here in Milano, right next to the center of the Italian Covid-19 outbreak. I found knitting on this vest relaxing.
The strip motif kept the interest up while not making the knitting too complicated. The vest is knitted top down from the shoulders, the front has a taller striped section, while the back has some light waist shaping (no shaping is present on the front). Due to the top down construction, feel free to make the vest longer or shorter.
The yarn I used is Nordica by Sesia, a superwash pure merino which relaxes quite a bit on the first wash, so keep this in mind if you use the original yarn. Since the vest was created with leftovers, you can feel free to use a single color, or to develop the stripes differently. The vest is shown in medium size and I used all of the yarn with no leftovers whatsoever on 3 balls of color A; for this size I listed 4 balls.

La musica e il testo di Stripsearch dei Faith no More, misteriose e inquietanti, si accordano con le emozioni vissute durante le settimane della quarantena qui a Milano, a ridosso dell’epicentro italiano dell’epidemia di Covid-19. Lavorare a questo gilet mi aiutava a rilassarmi. Il motivo a strisce aiuta a tenere desta l’attenzione senza complicare il lavoro.
Il gilet si lavora top down a partire dalle spalle, il davanti ha la sezione a righe più alta, mentre sul destro una leggera sagomatura in vita gli dà maggiore forma (il davanti non è sciancrato). La costruzione top down rende possibile variare la lunghezza del gilet. Io ho lavorato la taglia M e, nella lunghezza indicata, ho terminato senza avanzi con 3 gomitoli di colore A,
Il filato usato è Nordica di Sesia, una lana merino pura superwash che si rilassa abbastanza con il lavaggio, tenete presente questo nel lavorare il capo con il filato originale. Dato che il gilet è stato creato con avanzi, sentitevi libere di modificare lo schema dei colori, usandone uno solo o sviluppando differentemente le strisce.
