This stranded hat started out as a test for the Proud As A Peacock Capelet. I wanted to see if I liked my chart for peacock feathers. Turned out I did, and I liked the hat that resulted. I got to play with a little bit of two-color brioche in the brim and indulge my love of stranded knitting.

If you are unsure of tackling brioche, you can simply knit a one by one rib (or two by two rib). It’s your hat, so it’s up to you. The stranded knitting, however, is pretty much non-negotiable. No worries though, the chart is straightforward and easy to follow.

Color changes are made extremely easy by using a color-gradient yarn like Feederbrook Farm Entropy DK or Spincycle Dyed In The Wool. The yarn will do a lot of the spectacular work for you. Now grab your yarn and needles and cast on!
