Notes From the Designer:
•I designed this shawl around the beautiful tones of the yarn itself. I chose a stitch pattern that reminded me of my favorite Hens and Chicks succulent plants. My great-grandmother had a large patch of these plants in her flower garden. I was always fascinated with them and wanted to have them in my own garden. When I got married, one of the first gifts I received from my husband’s family was starts from my mother-in-law’s own Hens and Chicks plants. I now have two large patches of them within my flower beds and love to watch them spread. The colors of the Succulent Hues Mini Kit match the plants perfectly.
•The design starts with the spearmint green and ends with the lovely mauve in a simple striping pattern that catches your attention. The lace pattern is very easy to remember and quick to work with a two row repeating pattern, making this design perfect for a beginning crocheter. The shells and trellis stitch pattern gives the shawl a light and airy feel that is perfect for cool summer evenings.
