Sumburgh Hooded Pullover NEW
For both men and women, this is the perfect basic knitted hoodie designed especially for the beginner. This could easily be the first sweater you knit and you’ll never buy a manufactured hoodie again after you’ve worn this one. The sample in the photograph is knitted in Isager’s Aran Tweed, but It would also be great knitted in a machine-washable cotton for easy care. I first designed this hoodie for Jamieson’s Shetland Knitting Book way back in 2000 and still wear the original. This version has an updated modified set-in sleeve for less bulk, an extra button for more neck warmth when the hood is up, and 2 x 2 ribbing. I added a bit of shaping at the back of the hood, but kept the original crown shaping, which fits the head very nicely if I do say so myself. And like the original, no pointy head!
