I have named my little shawl Summary because it is a sum of skills and persistence. The design was inspired by the arrangement of flower buds developing on a branch in spring time.
As an accessory, the Summary shawl has several roles to play: It should keep one warm, but it also serves as decoration, and in this case, it also shows off new gained skills and highlights that one single skein of beautiful yarn
Start with just 4 stitches, adding wider and wider rows that form a long and narrow asymmetric triangle. This pattern is also very flexible: A small amount of yarn will create a small neckerchief, and a 450-yard skein will create a sizable shawl. It all depends on the number of repeats completed and the weight of yarn used. The pattern accommodates fingering or sport weights.
