This SUMMER BERRIES cap uses various shades of purples and reds, in both solids and variegated yarns. (Obviously, you are free to use any color combo you’d prefer.) The total weight needed is about 5 ounces either from your stash of left-over yarns or purchased new.

The shaping of this slouchy cap is unique in that from the crown it first blossoms out and then tapers back in toward the band, giving this cap a very full look.

The ribbing along the length of the cap defines its style, and the use of the crab stitch on the edge of the band gives it a nicely finished look.

I have given instructions for two different sizes, and the pattern calls for a medium weight yarn (size 4).
