There is no longer a free version of this pattern available. It was free during the Summer of 2020 for the original KAL.

The pattern is great for an adventurous beginner to a seasoned knitter! It uses a lot of textured stitch patterns. There are no cables, colorwork or brioche.

Materials:
Any worsted weight yarn in any color combination that speaks to you! I am using Shelter by Brooklyn Tweed because there is a huge color selection and the yarn is, well, just fantastic. You can buy new or use up yarn from your stash. Each of the 16 blocks will take approximately 120 yards. I feel like it will be easiest to knit your throw in 1, 4 or 8 colors. I will have schematics available for you to print and color in your colors. If you choose one color your estimated yardage is 2200 yards (border included). If you choose 4 colors your you will need 360 yards of each color (border not included). If you choose 8 colors you will need 240 yards of each color (border not included). The border will take around 250 yards.

Needles:
Recommend size is US #7 or #8 needles. You will have the option to knit blocks and then seam together or knit blocks together into strips for less seaming.

Finished Size:
Each block is approximately 12.5 “x 12.5”. Yours may vary depending on your gauge.
With the border knit on your finished throw should measure 54” x 54”.

I hope you are all just as excited as I am! Trish
