Summer Flowers Half Hap Shawl
The Summer Flowers Half hap Shawl can be knitted in a variety of yarns. I have listed the yarns used for the DK weight shawl but the shawl can also be knitted in 4ply/fingering weight yarns.
The red and multi-colour shawl in the image was knitted in a fine fingering/4ply weight yarn and is the smallest of the 3 versions shown here. The lilac and yellow version is also knitted in 4ply yarns and has made a larger shawl than the red shawl. The blues and red shawl is knitted in a DK weight yarn with 2 strands of kidsilk yarns for the contrast. This is the largest shawl and makes a generous large shawl.
It is not easy to adjust the pattern to make the shawl larger (or smaller) so to vary the size of the shawl you will need to vary the thickness of the yarn you use. The thicker the yarn you use the more meters you will need.
This shawl is constructed using traditional Shetland Shawl techniques. The pattern contains links to video demonstrations of the various techniques used in the shawl construction.
