This summer top is a lacy, boxy, sideways top that can be worn over a camisole, shirt, or tee. It is designed to be slightly oversized but not too big. The front and back pieces of the top are identical. They are seamed together at the cast-on and bind-off edges to create the sideways design. The stitch pattern is overall lace with curled stockinette stitch borders that become the neckline and bottom edges. The top can easily be made longer by adding additional multiples of the lace pattern and can be made wider by adding additional repeats.

Even though the skill level of this pattern is “Intermediate,” it is definitely suitable for a confident beginner! The lace is an easy 10-row pattern, using simple decreases and increases. I have included video links for all the techniques used in this pattern so that you can see how they are done. And there is even a video showing how to use a lifeline! I hope you have the confidence to try this pattern and I hope you enjoy it!
