How’s that? A yarn crawl? Yep - even if you can’t travel, or shops aren’t able to open yet, we’re on: the Slow Crawl is virtual again this year, too! That actually means you can join in from anywhere!

The Summer of Love Tank Top was inspired by ‘60’s era clothing and a sense of having fun with the vintage-theme for this year’s Pacific Northwest Slow Crawl. This is a tunic-length top that is knit bottom-up with lace panels at the sides and a flower lace motif in the front. The lace panels have decreases written into the chart, and these decreases are continued to the waist, providing a swingy body-skimming fit. The piece is knit in the round and then split for the front and back for armhole shaping. Design details include the lace flower motif at the center of the front and a racer-back panel for the back. Straps are seamed together at the tops of the shoulders. Wear this top as a fun and nostalgic piece over shorts or skirt, or style over a t-shirt and jeans as a tunic for cooler weather.

Yarn: Jorstad Creek O’Keefe (3-ply, DK weight, 75% Cotton/25% Linen, 244 yd/223m) or Cestari Monticello DK Weight.
Single Color option: 2 (3, 3,3, 4)(5, 5, 6, 6) skeins.
Two Color option:
Skirt (bottom hem to high waist) 1 (2, 2, 2, 2)(3, 3,3, 3) skeins in Main Color.
Bodice (high waste to shoulders) 1(1,1,2,2)(2,2,3,3) in Contrasting Color.

Needle: Circular needle, 40 inches, US size 9 (5.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge: 3.7 stitches and 5.4 rows per inch in Stockinette Stitch lightly blocked.; 3.6 stitches and 5.4 rows per inch in Mesh Lace Pattern lightly blocked.

Notions: Stitch holders, 3 small and 1 to hold 30-inches, or waste yarn, Stitch markers, 4 ring markers, 1 to mark the beginning of the round
