This shawl is designed for spring/summer use when the temperatures outside are warm, but inside it is very cool from too much air conditioning! This is a problem that those of us who live in Arizona have, as buildings seem to be over air-conditioned. I always have a shawl in my car to make sure I am comfortable in the colder air of stores, theaters, or wherever!

The shawl is worked from the bottom up and is considered to be a triangular shawl, but because increases are worked on each side and on every row, the shawl will be more shallow and long than a traditional, deeper triangular shape. It’s perfect for covering shoulders but can still be wrapped for warmth. Stockinette stitch, garter stitch, and simple yarn overs are used so it is a perfect choice for a confident beginner! I hope you enjoy knitting it and wearing it!

This shawl is part of the Confident Beginner Series in Cast On magazine.
