These socks were originally designed  for a circular sock machine with a 72  needle cylinder. They can also be  made very well on the standard gauge  or Passap 5mm knitting machine using 72 needles. They are knitted using circular  knitting so a ribber or 2 beds are essential. A bulky version is listed at the end of the  pattern.  These are summery because they are light weight, with short tops.
