Inspired by a June day on the coast, Summer Wind is a light scarf composed of diagonal lines of open lacework that change direction in an airy, architectural wave. It can be paired with a lightweight jacket to serve as a lovely accent piece for those cooler, breezy days and nights. This design was originally created to be a part of the 2023 Two Sheeps Calendar, where it was featured in the month of June.

The scarf is worked flat. The main motif is made up of two sets of diagonal lines that move toward and away from each other, divided by one long line that runs the full length of the scarf. The diagonal lines are created by combining cabling with simple lacework on the RS. On the WS, some stitches are slipped to elongate them. Sections of the pattern alternate regularly to change the direction of the diagonal lines, giving a wavy visual effect. A slipped-stitch edge runs the length of the piece on both sides. Instructions are written only.
