The Summertime socks were inspired by art and the desire to capture the feeling of freehand drawing in a pair of socks. The flowing wave pattern can be created without a cable needle, and the length of the leg can easily be adjusted to your preference.

MATERIALS
Yarn: Laurelknits BFL Silky Sock (60% superwash Bluefaced Leicester, 20% silk, 20% nylon, 328 yds / 300 m – 100 g), 1 skein in the colourway Ocean Haze.

Or approx. 223 (263, 299) yds / 204 (240, 276) m of sport-weight yarn.

Alternative yarn suggestions are for example Sisu by Sandnes Garn, Alpaquina by Katia Concept or Wilhelmi by Vuonue.

Needles: US 2 / 2.75 mm 32” / 80 cm circular needles, extra US 2 / 2.75 mm DPN.

Notions: Stitch marker.

GAUGE
31 sts x 42 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in St St, after blocking.37 sts x 43 rnds = 14” / 10 cm in Stitch Patt, after blocking.

NOTES
These socks are worked using the Magic Loop -technique from toe to cuff. The stitches are cast on using the Turkish Cast-On and the heel is worked using short rows. The beginning of the round is at the side of the sock. You can also work the socks with DPNs.
