Sun-Ray Square - June
Welcome to Threads of Colour: A Year in Squares
Each month, I share a new square design along with ideas, tips, and inspiration. You can follow along at your own pace—there’s no pressure to keep up. This is the June Square and it is number 8 of the squares - there have been a couple of bonus squares as well.
I will admit that I am a lace nerd which makes this my favourite square so far. I can see me making a whole blanket out of this square. One where every square is made with different coloured edges and maybe even different coloured centers. Knit in sunny summer colours, I can see it in my minds eye – sometime in the future when there is more time and less ideas!
This square is knit from the center out and starts with a pinhole cast-on.
If you don’t know how to work a pinhole cast-on – try out Tin Can Knits version. There is a link to the tutorial in the pattern.
The Sun-Ray Square - June pattern is a delightful knitting project that will challenge and inspire you. This adventurous level pattern features intricate lace details and seamless construction, perfect for knitters looking to expand their skills. The one-size design allows for customization, making it a versatile addition to your wardrobe. Whether you follow the written instructions or the chart, you’ll enjoy creating this beautiful square.
