Helpful Tip

Make sure that you follow the setup row (“Est XYZ Chart”) for each chart correctly. In general you will have this setup: 2 edge sts, the entire chart (including repeated sts), the center st, the entire chart (including repeated sts), 2 edge sts.

If you try to work the chart across the entire piece, the stitch counts will not be right, and the shawl will not have the right shape.

Errata:
The description of how to make a sssk in abbreiviations section is correct, but it should say “2 sts dec’d” (not 1).
