Beads radiate from the center of this half-circle shawl. Want the pattern to make a stronger statement? Use beads in a contrasting color. Of course, using so many beads means a heavier shawl, but I love how substantial it feels. Take your time, and be sure to buy more beads than you need— inevitably, some won’t fit easily on the crochet hook. Also, don’t let the quantity of beads required scare you away. I didn’t count them until after the pattern was completed, and it surprised me how many I used.
