Super 10 100% cotton is perfect for a baby blanket! It is mercerised so doesn’t stretch or shrink and, due to the special process used, is soft and cuddly. This blanket can go in the washing machine and tumble dryer - it doesn’t have to be saved for special.

The pattern itself is fun. You get the outline instructions but then you make your own choices throughout. The blanket is made up of stripes of different colours and textures - even better the border is knitted up at the same time so there is no picking up stitches or sewing together at the end. I recommend a minimum of 3 colours - when I’ve made blankets I usually have the equivalent of 1 skein left - enough to make a nice cardigan for a newborn. If you are a regular user of Super 10 you might be able to have more colours… cool!

One of the best things about this blanket is that it will be a unique creation and a unique gift. A template for the alphabet and numbers is provided, so you can add the baby’s name, or not. Personalisation is done using cross-stitch, so there are no messy ends to contend with. Have fun!
