Susanna Lily Bag
I was inspired to design this bag initially because of my love for the suzette stitch. It’s such a simple stitch to create and the finished design is so textured and gorgeous. I knew I had to create something with the suzette stitch. I decided on a cute and easy bag. You can never have enough handmade bags and I wanted to add another to the list.
I came up with the name Susanna Lily because of suzette, the stitch I used for most of the bag. Suzette comes from the Hebrew name Susanna, and translates to Lily or Rose. I am a huge lover of flowers and nature, so it seemed idyllic to name the bag after one of my favourite crochet stitches as well as one of my favourite flowers.
The finished bag measures approximately 30cm/12in in width and 20cm/8in in length when the front flap is closed over. The strap is 50cm/20in in length and 5cm/2in in width.
