The Susette Sweater is a delicate sweater that will add a romantic touch to your wardrobe. It features an all-over lace pattern, a ruffle at the hem and the sleeves and a folded neckband. This sweater is designed with fingering weight yarn and lace weight suri yarn held together. It’s worked in the round from the bottom up, then divided at the armholes to work front and back separately. The set-in sleeves are worked in the round by picking up stitches around the armhole. The Susette Sweater is intended to be worn with 0-10 cm / 0-4” of positive ease.

Choosing the right size is of utmost importance. Take your body measurements and choose the size that corresponds with them. The recommended ease for this design is approx. 0-10 cm (0-4 inches) of positive ease. The measurements below are the finished garment measurements, not your own.

Chest circumference:

MATERIALS
Needles: 4.5 mm circular needle (US size 7, UK size 7) or other needle size that matches gauge. I recommend using an 80 cm or 100 cm circular needle for the body, depending on the size you’re knitting. The sleeves can be worked on a 40 cm circular needle, but DPNs or the magic loop method may be easier for the smaller sizes.

3.5 mm 60 cm circular needle (US size 4, UK size 9) for the neck ribbing, and 4.5 mm DPNs or circular needle for the cuffs. You can use DPNs or the magic loop method with a longer circular needle.

Yarn: Fingering weight yarn held together with a strand of lace weight suri silk. You will need approximately 1050, (1200, 1300, 1400) (1500, 1650, 1750) (1850, 2000) meters / 1150, (1315, 1420, 1530) (1640, 1805, 1915) (2025, 2190) yards. Please note: when using fingering weight yarn held together with a strand of lace weight suri silk, you will need the aforementioned yardage of both yarns.

For my sample I used Classic Sock and Suri Lace from Sewrella Yarn. Classic Sock is a 2-ply fingering weight 100% sw merino yarn which comes in 100g skeins à 366 meters / 400 yards. Suri Lace is a single-ply lace weight suri silk blend (74% suri alpaca & 26% silk) which comes in 50g skeins à 300 meters / 328 yards. Both yarns are available through this link. You can also use any other yarn that matches gauge.

Other tools: Darning needle, scissors, stitch markers, measuring tape, scrap yarn OR extra cable.
