Svartifoss
On vacation in Iceland last summer, I picked up two skeins of laceweight yarn, a fascination with the geometric rock formations in the country, and a need for warm accessories. (I named this set after the Black Waterfall, Svartifoss.) It turns out that a lace fabric laid over a simple worsted-weight stockinette fabric results in a very warm item -- or, in this case, three very warm items. This lace pattern features stockinette, nupps and yarnovers that provide interesting variation in texture and color density in the laceweight overlay.
Pattern requires use of charts.
