Sweater Bonamie
Bonamie is a stranded colourwork sweater with a traditional fair-isle pattern. For the design, I had the idea to work each sleeve in a different colour set to the body, which makes the pullover a kind of an eyecatcher and quite unique.
I used 13 colours to create this pattern. However, you can also go back to a traditional and classic style and use only 7 colours. In this case, the body and sleeves have the same colour combinations.
Knitting skills & technique: Intermediate knitting skills; Bottom-up construction with set-in sleeves, Knowledge of knitting in the round, colourwork knitting in the round and flat, short rows, steeking
General Information for Construction
The sweater is worked in the round from the bottom up to the underarm. Steek stitches will be added for armhole & necklines before you continue working in the round up to the shoulders. Armhole steeks are cut open. Sleeves stitches are picked up. Sleeves caps are worked in short-rows (fair-isle-flat). Sleeves are worked seamlessly in the round. Neckline steeks are cut open and stitches are picked up. Corrugated rib is worked to finalize the garment.
