Sweet Brown is the second design from the Warm Hands Warm Hearts collection.

They’re a sweet and stunning way of adding a touch of sparkle to an otherwise dreary day. I really wanted to find a knitted stitch that produced a crochet textured fabric and this one, Portcullis stitch, is the perfect combination of yarn overs and decreases which creates a wonderfully densely textured fabric. The full beaded effect of the floats happens when stitches are dropped near the end of the mitt so if you find the prospect of this daunting your tension swatch is an ideal way of getting into practice.

The mitts which are worked in the round on dpns are knitted in 2 shades of my Baby Alpaca DK in shades Bitter Choc & Menthe
