Sweet papaya vest or shawl
Also available on Yarnandy, Payhip, Etsy.
A kit with the yarn used in the pattern and many other colorways I designed is also available on Sparwolle (only in Europe).
What you will get
This crescent shawl or vest crochet pattern includes:
full written instructions in US terms and UK terms to make the sample shown, except the filet section (use the charts for that);
crochet charts showing the beginning of the pattern and the filet section.
About the pattern
You can use the pattern to make a lacy summer crochet vest, an elegant gradient yarn shawl or even a summer skirt.
This elegant lacy vest is made up of multiple wedges that create a crescent shape that is easy to wear draped over the shoulders. The chevron construction allows you to show off any combination of gradient yarn.
You can adjust the placement of the armholes for the best fit for your body.
The second half of the pattern includes geometric filet crochet motifs that seamlessly blend from one pattern repeat to the next.
The vest or shawl is worked from the neckline towards the outer edge, where shaping creates sharp points that can be accentuated by blocking.
If making a shawl, you can make fewer or more panels for a narrower or wider shawl.
The pattern is perfect for gradient yarns, showing off the gradual changes within the plain fabric.
Skill level
Beginner. You will be making basic stitches and chains.
