Sweet Stockings
Make your holiday extra special with these charming mini stockings! Crafted with bits and bobs of leftover yarn and topped with cozy, textured sheep locks on the cuffs, these wee stockings are a delight to knit. Perfect as gift toppers, tree ornaments, or a sweet little surprise to tuck a gift into. Use up your yarn stash and add a handmade touch to your holiday decor with these whimsical stockings!
MATERIALS
Yarn:
Use any leftover yarn you have. You will need about 18 grams of yarn to complete each stocking. The thicker the yarn, the larger your stocking will become.
Needles (suggested size):
US 4 3.5 mm double pointed needles or a long circular needle for magic loop.
Gauge:
24 sts and 32 rows over 4” 10 cm after blocking. Gauge is not important for this project.
Note: The sheep locks technique is a simple technique used to knit the locks with your working yarn into your project. If you would like a video tutorial on how to do this, you can find it on my YouTube channel Knit A Rainbow. Search Sheep Locks Technique.
Notions:
Sheep locks. The locks seen here are Cotswold locks purchased from Long Island Yarn and Farm. You will need a very little amount of locks for this project.
Darning needle, for BOR.
