Sweet Thing is the simplest corner-to-corner baby blanket designed for fingering weight held double. Knit on size US 7/4.5 mm needles, it stitches up super quickly with your favorite hand-dyed delights. Perfect for that second knitting project, this project makes a great gift knit and scrap or stash buster.

Size:
Finished blanket measures approximately 25”/60 cm square, but pattern is easily customizable to use as much yarn as you would like

Gauge:
21 sts and 40 rows = 4”/10 cm in garter stitch after blocking
Note: neither gauge nor blocking or crucial to the finished blanket, simply choose the gauge that feels right to you.

Suggested Yarn:
Any fingering weight yarn, especially hand dyed, variegated, speckled and gradient yarns. I used one skein of the Gritty Knits Time Bomb Gradient in “Pastel Rainbow” and one skein of another Time Bomb (OOAK) colorway. If you choose to use scraps or mini skeins for one of the strands, I recommend using a full skein for the other strand, to create color cohesiveness.

Notions/Needles:
US 7/4.5 mm 24”-40”/60-100 cm length circular needle (or straight needles if preferred)
Tapestry needle
Digital scale for weighing yarn
