Sweetheart Hat
Give your favorite little person a hat this winter that reminds them they are loved. This adorable ear flap hat pattern is written in sizes from newborn through pre-teen. Any adventurous beginner comfortable with knitting in the round can successfully complete this project, and I am always happy to answer questions and offer pattern support.
Sizes offered: newborn - older child 5-12
Finished hat sizes: 12” - 20”
(Finished hat is intended to fit with a bit of negative ease, so assume your hat will comfortably stretch 1.5’- 2” beyond the “finished” measurement above.)
Skills Used:
Casting on with backward loop method
Duplicate Stitch (though more experienced knitters may prefer to substitute stranded colorwork)
Working in the round
Crochet Slip Stitch (video link provided)
or Applied I-cord (very detailed instructions with pictures included)
