Swirlygig Hat
Feature your favorite hand-dyed or hand-painted yarns with this clever hat pattern. The subtle texture won’t compete with your crazy colorway, and the slouchy style is sure to fit everyone comfortably!
Available Sizes: 15” (17”, 18.75”, 21”) circumference, intended to fit a head 16-18” (18-20”, 20-22”, 22-24”) in circumference - choose the size that is 1 to 3 inches smaller than actual head circumference. The model has a 20” head and is wearing the 17” size.
Materials Needed:
• 165 (200, 250, 310) yds fingering-weight yarn (Sample shown was made from Stitch Together Smooth Sock yarn in the “Rainbow Blip” colorway. 75/25 Merino/ Nylon, 463 yds per 100g skein) + an extra 100 yds for tassels
• US Size 2 / 2.75mm circular needle
• 4 traveling stitch markers
• yarn needle
Techniques Used:
• working in-the-round
• working a 2-stitch cable (detailed instructions are included, no cable needle is needed)
• K2tog
• making a tassel - step-by-step photo tutorial & written instructions are included in the pattern.
