This cowl was inspired by my workshops at Shetland Wool Week 2019, where we knitted a small Swiss flag. Two balls were left because someone couldn’t come to the class and at home, this cowl with a traditional Fair Isle pattern, which funny enough contains small Swiss flags, was created.

It can be worn as a headband as well.

If you not a double knitter nor in the mood to learn this cool technique, you can knit it in fair isle as well, than it isn’t reversible.

Gauge
16 sts and 30 rnds per 10cm / 4”, worked in the rnd in double knitting, after blocking.
Changes in gauge, while not crucial for the fit of the project, will result in size differences and affect the amount of yarn needed to complete the project.

Double Knitting: Two right sides are worked at the same time, using two different colors. Important to know: the charts show the front sides sts (MC) only, the back side sts (CC) are worked simultaneously.

DEUTSCHE BESCHREIBUNG

Dieser Cowl wurde durch meine Workshops bei der Shetland Wool Week 2019 inspiriert, wo wir eine kleine Schweizer Flagge gestrickt haben. Zwei Bälle blieben übrig, weil jemand nicht kommen konnte, und zu Hause wurde dieser Cowl mit einem traditionellen Fair-Isle-Muster, das lustigerweise kleine Schweizer Fähnchen enthält, entworfen.
Er kann auch als Stirnband getragen werden.

Falls du es nicht in Double Face stricken möchtest, kannst du es natürlich auch in der Fair Isle Technik stricken, dann ist der Loop allerdings nicht wendbar.
