Syn was created for my amazing 2 and a half year old son Mason. He can’t say his own name in full just yet so “Syn” is what he calls himself.

Syn uses a slightly “messy” stitch to go along with my boy’s long, shaggy hair. And the slipped stitch patterning reminded me of how quickly my little man’s babyhood is slipping away. So this hat was special to me in many ways and I hope you can find someone special to make it for as well :)

Syn is designed to be VERY loose fitting. The brim has only about an inch of negative ease and the body is built with positive ease. It will fit as a slouchy hat for a younger child and as they grow it will fit more like a beanie. To add to the slouch factor this hat is also longer than the standard for each size. If you want a more close fitting hat try knitting the smaller size, dropping a needle size or knitting less length in the hat body.
