Syringa is a triangular shawl worked from the bottom up using the filet crochet technique. It has no obvious right or wrong side and can be made to any size.
Syringa shawl was originally published in Crochet Now magazine, Issue 8.This pattern has been tweaked a little, updated, and now uses U.S. crochet terminology.
An option to turn it into a rectangular-shaped accessory (a scarf or a stole) is also provided (pages 4-5).
MATERIALS
- Yarn: WYS Signature 4 Ply, 75% wool, 25% Nylon, 400m per 100g ball, 3 balls in Pennyroyal 530
- Hook: US D (3.25 mm)
- Yarn needle to weave in ends
GAUGE
- 22 sts x 10 rows = 4’’ (10 cm) measured over dc
- Bear in mind that if your gauge is different than the stated, your yardage requirements and finished dimensions will change.
FINISHED SIZE
- 82’’ (208 cm) wingspan, 31½’’ (80 cm) height at center
