If you like the idea of knitting lace but don’t feel like you are a “lacy person,” this is the scarf for you. The tailored appearance is very sophisticated.
The simple but attractive stitch pattern makes a great introduction to lace knitting, as there are only two rows of instructions.
This stitch pattern is found in slightly different form in a World War 2 pattern from England called “Victory Jumper” and in the traditional Razor Shell pattern. It is also used in a pattern called Grandmother Twombly’s Scarf published in the March/April 2010 issue of Piecework. Here it is used at a larger gauge for the entire scarf.
