The trellis pattern on this top is a traditional Gansey stitch particular to Polperro in Cornwall. Talland Bay is just up the coast from Polperro and is a stunning cove on the South coast. With the front and back started separately on a provisional cast on but then joined into a circular knit there is no sewing to be done, apart from your ends. This strappy top is a great use of that 4ply (fingering weight) yarn you have waiting for a special project.

Difficulty
Knitted in 4ply (fingering weight) yarn you will need to cast on with a provisional cast on, knit, purl, working in the round, increasing with making stitches left and right and decreasing by knitting stitches together, before casting off.

Yarn and Notions
4ply (fingering) weight yarn, I used Sirdar Country Classic which is a 50g ball containing 200 meters /218 yards. If you use something different check the meterage/yardage for your size rather than the ball number
