The Tally Tee is named for Tallahassee, Florida, where Florida State University is located, and the fourth purl will be attending school.

It’s move-in day!! Use the code “moveinday” for 40% off this pattern through the end of the month.

I need something other than saying goodbye to focus on this weekend, so send me all your good wishes!

My endlessly wearable take on super simple knit. This top will fly off your needles, and the endless color combinations will have you casting on another right away!

Kits for this pattern in Hella Hanks can be found here; kits in Practically Perfect Sock, here; or visit your LYS for tons of inspo!!

The combination of a super soft yarn, stunning marled color combinations, and large needles have become my new obsession! Not to mention, this top looks fantastic on many bodies. Since I used wool, it will keep me cool during the hot Florida summer, even though it’s nearly worsted weight, and warm on cool fall evenings.

Pick three colors or combine all of your beautiful scraps! I bet you can’t make just one.

Yarn is held tripled throughout.

or
3 colors of fingering weight yarn held triple in the following yardage:
per color: 256, (351, 446, 538, 633, 728, 823, 918, 1013, 1108) yards. 234,(320, 407, 492, 578, 665, 752, 839, 926, 1013) meters.

needles:
US size 7, 16 in circular needle or 3-4 sizes smaller than size required for gauge.
US size 9 or 1-2 sizes smaller than required for gauge.
US size 10.5, circular needle. You may want multiple cable lengths (or dpns) in your gauge size in order to knit a small circumference for the sleeves and a large circumference for the chest.

other notions:
scrap yarn or extra interchangeable needle cable to hold sleeve stitches, stitch marker, darning needle, tape measure, blocking supplies.

gauge:
12 sts and 12 rows = 4 inches blocked, in stockinette stitch using larger needles.
row gauge is not as important since the pattern tells you how many inches to knit in each area but be sure you have a fabric that is not too stiff and tight.
