Tarfala Valley Shawl
Even the simplest shawl can add style (and warmth) to an outfit. This crescent-shaped wrap features garter stitch in a variegated yarn and a dramatic lace border in a solid yarn. Muted tones ripple across this shawl just as they do across an alpine tundra or Swedish glacier.
Difficulty Intermediate
Finished Size 18” deep at the center and 70” long.
Yarn Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend (70% merino extrafine wool, 30% silk): abalone (light purple; MC), 3 skeins and ice melt (light blue; CC), 1 skein. Yarn distributed by Fairmount Fibers.
Needles Sizes 6 (4 mm), 8 (5 mm), and 9 (5.5 mm): 32” circular. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers; tapestry needle.
