You can quite simply modify the length of the hat and
mittens by working more or less rows of stockinette stitch
on the straight sections before the shaping. Please note
that the mittens are worked identically and not mirror imaged,
once you have completed two identical mittens,
simply flip one of the mittens over so that you have two
opposing thumbs.
