This super sized rib is perfect for today’s oversized scarves. The Showy Canyon rib is a simple modification of the traditional k1, p2 rib, but the impact of using the Showy Decrease is dramatic! It’s hard to show in photos, but once you try it you’ll be amazed.

The sample scarves were knit with 3.5 skeins of Cascade 128 Superwash, but any smooth bulky yarn if fine, an alpaca would work beautifully. You can actually use any gauge yarn as long as it has some structure. Merino or merino blends would be perfect.

The pattern is very (very) easy to adapt to other gauges and sizes. This scarf is 6” x 70” long, perfect for the fold and tuck look.

The pattern is appropriate for advanced beginners and above. If you are more experienced, you will enjoy the contrast to a standard rib and the quick knit.
