Yarn: The Farmer’s Daughter Fiber Juicy DK, ~5 100g skeins (274yds each)

Pattern Premise:
Two years ago, the DFW Fiber Community lost one of it’s most respected designers, Jacki Shuttleworth. I was blessed to have met her in person in 2017 when we were both promoting the DFW Designer Collection Vol. 2 at Stitches Texas.

She was the most lovely person, elegant and kind and welcoming. So many beautiful patterns came from her heart. “Tender Textures” Baby Blanket was her crochet contribution to the collection that year and I was lucky enough to get to test it.

Jacki lost her battle with cancer before the pattern could be published in the collection, but we managed to make it happen. When the pattern was released from the collection, her daughter was kind enough to let me put it in my portfolio to help raise money for the American Cancer Society in her mother’s name.

Many people have asked for a knit translation of the pattern since the crochet version was released. I can only hope that this version does justice to Jacki’s original. As with the original, a portion of the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society in Jacki’s name.
