When the weather turns, and the days grow shorter and colder, it’s time to stock up on warm layers. A cowl knitting pattern is a great way to fend off the first chill of winter because it’s smaller and quicker to knit than an alternative to a scarf, theses knit-cowls will keep you warm whether wearing a coat or working inside with the thermostat set low. Also giving you something to wear while you work on bigger projects…..These are knit bottom up in the round. I like double-wrap cowls. They’re nice and warm, and with two layers, you can snug one close around the neck, and let the other hang a little lower. Looks good. Feels good.
I also like a cowl that fits smoothly around my neck with no twists.

Yarn: Himalaya Everyday Fiber (100% acrylic, 250 yds 273m per 100gr) colour yellow.
Yardage: Please keep in mind that yardage is an estimate skeins yarn per 100gr skein: 1 (½ ) 2 balls.
Notion: stitch markers (ma), stitch holders or wastes yarn, tapestry needle.
Circular Needles: adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge, (dpns or circular(s) for your preferred method of knitting small circumferences in the rnd). size US.6 4mm, 10’’ 25cm, 16’’ 40cm, 32’’ 80cm.
Gauge in pattern: (after wet blocking) 44 sts and 26 rounds= 4’’ 10cm in rib 2x2. Gauge and needle size are suggestions only.
Individual knitting style and yarn characteristics affect the result, so adjust needle size to get preferred results.
Adjusting the pattern: To make the piece bigger/smaller around, you can add/subtract to circumference in multiples of 40 stitches
