This is a crew-neck raglan sweater “adapted from an original by Elizabeth Zimmermann.”

Sweater patterns in this book use a percentage system. That is, you plug in your measurements and the pattern helps you calculate the number of stitches (or rows) you need at various points. You can use any yarn.

Pattern Description from The Sweater Workshop: “Select your yarn. Take it to your needles. (For your first sweater, any medium-weight yarn is best, as the aim is for you to acquire the rhythm of working a seam-free sweater, preferably in plain stockinette stitch - two evenings for the body, one for each sleeve, three for the yoke. On the eighth day you can wear it - even if just to rake leaves - and you will have mastered the method.)”
