The Blitzen Hat is a lovely, simple knit hat. It’s made out of Pine Canyon Wool yarn, which made out of 100% organic wool from sheep grazing in the mountains of Idaho, and then naturally dyed using such materials as madder root, dyer’s woad, aspen leaves, black walnuts, etc. It’s a beautiful yarn and very easy to work with.

The pattern is for a one-size-fits-all hat, but instructions are given on how to reduce or increase the size of the hat to whatever you need, whether it’s for a baby or child. The given pattern should fit most adults.

You will need to know how to knit in the round on circular needles, and how to knit and purl.
