The Boxed Baubles Cardigan
The Boxed Baubles Cardigan
My first Boxed Baubles Cardigan was so well loved that I wore literal holes in it! It is still my most favourite cardigan to date, and I missed wearing it. So imagine my elation when Expression Fiber Arts offered to collab on the remake! Not only did my sweater get a makeover, but the pattern itself has had a fresh re-write to bring it up to my current standards. I hope you love this project as much as I do!
I originally designed this cardigan because I’m the type who cannot stand being cold. I practically live in sweaters all winter long. I wanted something warm and snuggly, but still stylish enough to wear out and about. The slightly oversized fit makes it perfect for cozy layering, while the bead stitch detail adds just the right amount of texture and interest. I first played with this stitch when I designed the Bauble Bandana Cowl, and for this cardigan I gave it a twist: each bead is framed with an extended single crochet, creating the look of little “boxes” lined up across the fabric.
Whether you’re snuggled up on the couch or heading out for the day, I hope this cardigan becomes your go-to just like it has for me.
