Cloaked with an Undetectable Extension Charm, Newt Scamander’s magical case is home to many fantastic creatures. While on the outside it looks like a plain old leather suitcase, inside it is a protected haven for Nifflers, Bowtruckles, Billywigs, an Erumpent, a Swooping Evil, a nest of Occamys, Murtlaps, Mooncalves, Marmites, a Demiguise, and a beautiful Thunderbird named Frank (to name a few), all of whom live in their own separate ecosystems. While Newt makes sure the creatures feel at home and are well looked after, living in his case is a temporary situation until he can release them back into their natural habitat.

Watch Newt’s case menagerie appear through your knitting needles and yarn while working up this extra-long scarf! Knit in the round so the wrong side is hidden, creatures and Newt’s case come alive with stranded colorwork. The ends of the tube are closed by adding fringe through both layers of knitting. Want a longer or shorter scarf? It’s easier to add or remove a repeat than it is to fit the creatures all back inside!
