The Charterhouse Mittens
This is a pattern for a pair of fingerless mittens, with a fully fashioned half-thumb and finished with a delicate frill at the finger opening.
They are very elegant and warm - and also surprisingly quick to knit. Economical too, taking just 1 ball of each yarns used for the pair.
They are knitted in the round (I used DPNs) using Rowan Kidsilk Haze and Fine Lace held together. They have a left and right hand variation, with a tiny ‘rift’ of beads which are knitted in, and simple lace slanting across the backs of the hands.
I rate these as suitable for a knitter who is moderately confident.
