The Dionysus shawl is knit in a simple triangular shape with a generous wingspan but without excess fabric falling at your chest. This shawl is knit with a cleverly alternated motif of knit and purl rows creating an optical illusion of color changing stripes as you view the fabric at different angles.

This shawl is designed with Hue Loco’s DK weight base, in 200g of a variegated (sample shown in ‘Changing Leaves’) and 200g of a rich semi-solid (sample shown in the colourway ‘Acorn’). Utilizing
two unique, yet complimentary yarns is the key to this design, and I encourage you to have fun picking out a pair.

The pattern utilizes US5, 3.75mm knitting needles. Despite it’s knit-flat construction style, I personally used my favorite pair of circulars to accommodate it’s lofty wingspan.
