About End of the Box
Avoid the bickering over the last of the festive chocolates, take yourself away for some much needed me time with your favourite jewel shade yarn, hook and an absorbing pattern. The elegant lace is a four row repeat which, once mastered you can chat and make.
This shawl is designed to make the very most of a short skein of 4ply/fingering yarn and has a very discrete Christmas tree motif but the lacy design lends itself well to spring or summer wear.

Size:
Wingspan: 132cm/52in Depth: 53cm/21in
The shawl can be made larger or smaller by working more or fewer pattern repeats. This will alter the amount of yarn required.

Materials
100g skein Sparkleduck Solo (4ply weight, 100% superwash merino singles, 366m/100g) in Who needs chocolate*
4mm hook
1 removable stitch marker
Sadly this yarn is no longer available but this pattern suits any fingering weight yarn, for the same effect choose a meri-no singles yarn in a semi-solid bright jewel shade.

Tension
2 pattern repeats and 13 rows in htr only to 13cm/5in after firm blocking using 4mm hook (or size needed to achieve tension)

Difficulty Rating
Intermediate (Much easier for chart followers than pattern readers!)

Skills Needed
Basic crochet stitches, working in rows, picots.

Construction
Triangular shawl worked in rows from the centre neckline outwards, increasing in pattern on neck edge and around central spine.
