The Essential Hat
Excerpt From Headgear
Let’s start off with a basic double crochet hat. The simpler the stitching on any garment, the easier to grasp the construction, this is a great first hat to practice the technique used on each hat throughout the book. Essential features a basic double crochet construction with a crab stitch border.
PATTERN INFORMATION
This hat is worked flat in a large rectangle and seamed up the back. The top is gathered to close the crown and a pom-pom placed to cover up the resulting hole. The hat can be increased or decreased for a personal fit.
